Vince's Expected Death Has 1 Silver Lining In Fire Country Season 4

Fire Country season 3’s cliffhanger ending and the behind-the-scenes developments make Vince’s death almost certain, but even expecting it, there can be a bright side in relation to one story it can make possible. What happened in Fire Country season 3’s finale brewed the perfect storm, as Station 42 couldn’t work as a team trying to cater to the many crises happening simultaneously, instead facing them divided. This put many of its firefighters in terrible situations, including Gabriela and Audrey facing Finn alone, Three Rock protecting the fire camp without reinforcements, and the Leones doing the same at Buena Vista.

Fire Country’s innate community feeling that characterized how Station 42 fought fires and helped Three Rock or the town of Edgewater as a whole was nowhere to be seen in Fire Country season 3’s ending, as the Zabel Ridge fire divided its firefighters, forcing them to fight it disjointedly and less efficiently as a result. This made the many crises exponentially worse, and lethally so at the Buena Vista building, as entering it without the proper equipment probably contributed to Vince, Sharon and Walter remaining stuck as the roof collapsed. Edgewater’s unity can nevertheless return in Fire Country season 4.

Why Vince Is Likely Going To Die In Fire Country Season 4

Billy Burke's Exit Doesn't Leave Vince Many Chances Of Survival After Season 3's Finale

Billy Burke as Vince Leone in Fire Country season 3 episode 20

The explanation of Vince’s likely demise in Fire Country season 4 is twofold. From a narrative perspective, getting stuck in the Buena Vista building after the fire had almost destroyed it didn’t leave Vince, Sharon and Walter many chances of survival, especially with no Station 42 firefighters coming to save them and after the roof collapsed. However, it would be extremely unlikely for Fire Country to kill off two protagonists and another character extremely important to the family at the heart of the firefighting drama.

Vince's Demise Can Bring Sharon & Bode Closer Than Ever

Losing Vince Can Let Them Rely On One Another, Which They Couldn't Do After Riley's Death

Diane Farr as Sharon Leone and Max Thieriot as Bode Leone in Fire Country season 3 episode 16

Although Vince’s death will undoubtedly be felt by many and it will be heartbreaking for the rest of the Leone family, it can also give Sharon and Bode a chance to mourn him together and let them become closer than ever in Fire Country season 4. Sharon losing her husband and Bode losing his father would mean their losses would be unlike anything they have experienced before, even if they had already gone through something similar when Riley died before Fire Country’s events.

Vince’s death can counteract the effects of [Sharon and Bode’s fights about Oxalta in Fire Country season 3], letting them grow closer again as a family going through their shared loss of Vince.

Despite having already lost someone in their nuclear family, Bode and Sharon couldn’t mourn Riley together, as Vince sent Bode away in the aftermath of Riley’s death, faulting Bode as he was driving when Riley died. This stopped the Leones from being able to mourn as a family, something they could only do after reuniting in Fire Country season 2. Vince’s death can counteract the effects of the argument Sharon and Bode had about Oxalta in Fire Country season 3, letting them grow closer again as a family going through their shared loss of Vince, overcoming their relationship’s tensest moments.

How Else Vince's Looming Death Will Change Fire Country Season 4

Vince Dying Could Also Have An Impact On Edgewater & The Fox Side Of The Family

The inherent sadness of Vince’s death can also help bring together Edgewater as a whole, as everyone interacted with Leones due to their decade-long firefighting or their recent venture buying Smokey’s. This sad development can finally lead the Edwards and the Leones to bury the hatchet, along with forcing Luke Leone to return from Japan in Fire Country season 4. It can also make the Fox side of the family a bigger part of Fire Country, which can be extremely beneficial with Sheriff Country effectively beginning during the 2025-2026 TV season when Fire Country season 4 will air.
