Vince's Looming Death In Fire Country Season 4 Has 1 Major Silver Lining

The looming Leone tragedy can unintentionally upset the balance of one bond in Fire Country for the better, with repercussions potentially being felt also in the upcoming Fire Country spinoff, Sheriff Country. The Zebel Ridge fire ravaged the area around Edgewater in season 3’s finale, with its ending seemingly dooming Vince, Sharon and Walter after the Buena Vista roof collapse.

The report of Stephanie Arcila and Billy Burke exiting before Fire Country season 4 nevertheless makes Vince’s death much likelier than those of Walter or Sharon, with the latter’s big role in Sheriff Country and its first look making it almost impossible for Sharon’s life to be seriously threatened. While sad, Vince’s death can completely change one Fire Country bond.

Losing Vince Forces Sharon To Rely On Her Sister Mickey In Fire Country Season 4

Earlier Fire Country Seasons Showed Mickey Relying More On Sharon

Diane Farr as Sharon Leone and Morena Baccarin as Mickey Fox in Fire Country season 2, episode 6

Vince’s importance in Fire Country makes his likely death bring a multitude of changes into the lives of all the firefighting drama’s protagonists, chiefly his wife Sharon and son Bode. Vince’s death will inevitably change the Leone family dynamics, but going further, it also has the capacity to subvert the Leone-Fox family dynamics, with a focus on Mickey and Sharon’s.

Mickey’s two appearances in seasons 2 and 3 thus established both Mickey struggling and her initial judgment of Sharon.

When Mickey was introduced in Fire Country season 2, episode 6, Sharon’s expectations of her sister’s perfect family were almost immediately shattered once Mickey revealed that Skye was in rehab. Even when Mickey returned in Fire Country season 3, episode 16, having problems with Wes and Skye relapsing, it was Mickey who needed Sharon’s support and Sharon who offered it.

Mickey’s two appearances in seasons 2 and 3 thus established both Mickey struggling and her initial judgment of Sharon, relayed through Sharon’s retelling of their being at a fast-food place and Mickey commenting on Sharon letting Bode do anything he wanted. Even Mickey herself admitted to judging Sharon, despite doing so less after discovering Skye’s addiction and getting her help.

Vince dying not only makes Sharon need her sister’s support more, but it also flips their relationship dynamics since reuniting after Fire Country season 2. Between the practical help Sharon would need and the emotional support of having to go through another tragedy, Mickey is the one who can offer it, placing her in Sharon’s old role in their relationship.

How Mickey & Sharon's Shifted Dynamic Can Make Fire Country Season 4 & Sheriff Country More Interesting

It Subverts The Paradigm Of Sharon & Mickey's Relationship

Fire Country established early on how Vince and Sharon’s relationship was unbreakable, only coming close to doing so when Bode was involved. Ever since Mickey was introduced, she almost solely had her sister to rely on, while Sharon always had Vince too. Vince’s likely death instead puts Sharon in the more vulnerable position that Mickey inhabited up until that point.

Fire Country season 4 and Sheriff Country will return to CBS on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Sharon’s certainty that she could always rely on Vince is destroyed by his looming death, even with her extended family supporting her. This makes Fire Country season 4 and Sheriff Country particularly interesting in the way they will show Sharon and Mickey’s bond in a completely different light, as such a tragedy will inevitably change what Fire Country presented before.
