A video has gone viral which shows Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow being harassed on the street by a Cleveland Browns fan. It’s the latest example of fans taking things to another level when confronting pro athletes these days.
The video begins with the Browns fan filming the scene which shows Joe Burrow walking in a parking lot with some associates. Almost immediately upon hurling the insults at the Bengals quarterback, one of Burrow’s friends puts his hand out towards the fan and repeatedly tells him to “get the f— out of here.”
As the belligerent fan backs away, still shouting at Burrow that the Browns “own” him, another man hops over the guardrail separating Burrow’s group from the fan, who continued to back away before the video abruptly cuts off.
Awful: A Browns fan harassed Bengals superstar QB Joe Burrow, yelling that the Browns own him late at night.
“The Browns own you. The Browns own you, Bro.”
Burrow was trying to mind his own business 😔

For the record, Joe Burrow is 3-5 against the Cleveland Browns, but has won three out of the last four meetings between Cleveland and Cincinnati. That’s a far cry from the Browns “owning” him. Also, in those eight games against the Browns, Burrow has thrown for 15 touchdowns against five interceptions and has a very respectable QB rating of 93.0. In his most recent game against the Browns – a 24 to 6 Bengals win, Joe Burrow went 23-for-30 for 252 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 134.3 QB rating.
Of course, fans being obnoxious or even threatening to professional athletes is nothing new. It just seems like it’s happening more often this year, especially in baseball and on social media.
