Summary

  • The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 trailer has been released.
  • Subtitled The Book of Carol , Melissa McBride's character will have a larger role in season 2 as she continues her search for Daryl.
  • Daryl Dixon season 2 premieres on September 29 on AMC and AMC+.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 released a new trailer during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The spinoff set itself apart from other shows in the growing Walking Dead franchise by sending Daryl (Norman Reedus) across the pond to France. While there, Daryl befriends a nun, Isabelle, and her nephew, Laurent, who some believe is a Messiah figure that will lead humanity into a new age. Originally, Carol (Melissa McBride) was supposed to join Daryl on his European journey, but scheduling conflicts significantly limited her role in season 1. For season 2, though, McBride's Carol will have a larger role as she continues her search to reunite with Daryl.

During their panel at SDCC, for which Screen Rant was in attendance, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon released a new trailer for season 2, The Book of Carol. Watch the new trailer, below:

What The Book Of Carol Trailer Reveals About Daryl Dixon Season 2

The Daryl Dixon season 2 trailer begins with a glimpse of Daryl, Isabelle and Laurent getting comfortable in their new home at the fortress of Mont-Saint-Michel. The scene then shifts to America, where Carol has made a friend named Ash, played by new cast member Manish Dayal. Ash knows how to fly a plane, and he and Carol climb into a flimsy-looking prop aircraft for a perilous Atlantic crossing (they take out at least one walker with a propeller before taking off).

While Carol and Ash make their way to France, Daryl is revealed to be having serious problems, as it appears he becomes a prisoner of Pouvoir des Vivants leader Genet. Daryl doesn’t remain imprisoned long, however, as he’s shown being sprung, and immediately picking up a mace to take down some zombies. More zombie action ensues when Carol and Ash arrive in Europe, and are immediately attacked by walkers who’ve been lying dormant in the grass.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been renewed for season 3 and may also get a season 4

Glow in the dark walkers also get involved in the action at another point in the new trailer. In another big reveal, it seems Daryl gets the best of Genet at some point during the new season, as the villain is shown bloodied and possibly about to be shot in the face. The season’s most highly-anticipated moment – the big, sure-to-be-emotional reunion between Carol and Daryl – is teased at the very end of the trailer, with a shot designed to get The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon fans truly pumped for season 2.
