Warriors Rumored to Be Interested in New NBA Trade Target

Amid a 4-6 stretch over their last ten games, it is very apparent that the Golden State Warriors, as they are currently built, will not be able to get past the first round of the NBA playoffs, if they even make it that far. They traded for guard Dennis Schroder but haven't improved much, but are still linked to several trade targets.

Warriors Rumors: Nikola Vučević Eyed as More Realistic Trade Target Than Jimmy Butler | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report

Nikola Vucevic seems like the most realistic target, but the Dubs also have rumored ties to Jimmy Butler, Jakob Poeltl, and several other players on the market. Myles Turner is a very clear fit, although a different player on the Indiana Pacers has emerged as a possible deadline acquisition.

Wing Aaron Nesmith has been out since November 1 with an ankle injury, and Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard, Jarace Walker, Bennedict Mathurin, and Ben Sheppard have all stepped up in his absence. Last season, he had the best year of his career, averaging 12.2 points on 41.9 percent shooting from deep.

As the Warriors seek to add talent wherever they can find it, Nesmith has been labeled as a name to keep an eye on.

"The Warriors, sources said, have shown interest in Nesmith and are monitoring the 25-year-old's status with the Pacers leading up to the trade deadline," reported ClutchPoint's Brett Siegel. "Leading up to the trade deadline, Golden State is prioritizing secondary talents who can help build a bridge between head coach Steve Kerr's first and second units. Given his team-friendly contract and his ability to be a catch-and-shoot threat on the wing, Nesmith is a player who can bring a lot to the table for Golden State."

Nesmith will make $11 million over each of the next two full seasons, making him a quality and affordable addition the Warriors could keep an eye on.

If they strike a deal for Turner, there is a chance Nesmith will be included in a bigger deal that includes Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, and possibly Gary Payton II.
