Kyle Richards was reportedly ready to go public with her alleged romance with Morgan Wade during filming on the upcoming 14th season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she came across upsetting text messages on the country singer’s phone.
Following rumors of a supposed ultimatum from production, Kyle, 55, supposedly found messages between Morgan, 29, and another woman, leading her to remain secretive about the nature of their relationship.
“Kyle was ready to come out to the world until she saw text messages on Morgan’s phone from another woman. Kyle flipped out as soon as she saw it,” an insider told The Zone on Instagram on September 13. “Kyle was devastated and chose to keep this a secret from the cast going into filming.”
Although Morgan reportedly told Kyle that the person she was communicating with was only “a friend,” Kyle felt that “it was something more.”
“This is why you have not seen them together recently as their relationship has been on the rocks ever since, and no one really knows the status of their relationship as of now. Kyle has been very private about it ever since,” the source added.
As RHOBH fans may recall, Kyle was allegedly hit with an ultimatum over the spring regarding coming clean about her supposed romance with Morgan.
“The producers feel that Kyle has said all she can say about her split from [Mauricio Umansky] and now it is time to tell the truth about her dating Morgan,” an insider shared with Daily Mail at the time. “Kyle has beat around the bush a ton on Morgan and it is getting old. It is time for her to finally admit that it is more than a friendship.”
However, both she and Andy Cohen, 56, denied any such thing.
“Well, I think that Kyle is always invited back to [RHOBH] and I think that the supposition is that she opens up about her life,” Andy explained on a May episode of Watch What Happens Live, defending Kyle by saying, “She’s told her story.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime this fall.
