Speaking with Screen Rant, Morgan teased Negan's evolution in Dead City Season 2, remarking on how much growth the character has already experienced. "With Dead City, I don't know that it's the last year at all, but I think it's forming this character who, when we first met him, was the worst person in the world. And as time has gone by, we see a different side of him," he said.
The interview saw Morgan promoting his new film, Neighborhood Watch, which sees him starring alongside The Boys' actor Jack Quaid. Morgan took the time to compare his time playing Negan with Quaid's own characterizations, noting how different they are in hindsight. "Jack kind of plays characters that on the outside are really good, and then he's got this dark side. I'm the exact opposite," Morgan said. "I always come out of the box real f--king dark, and then you find out that there's another side to him."
