The Buffalo Bills will look to keep pace in the AFC playoff race when they travel to face the Detroit Lions on Sunday in a key NFL matchup.
The Bills have faced plenty of Super Bowl contenders this season, including the Kansas City Chiefs, but no team has looked as strong as the 12-1 Lions up to this point. Detroit currently holds the longest win streak in the league at 11 games.
Although Lions coach Dan Campbell has received plenty of praise for how he has turned around the franchise, he also has plenty of praise to give out, especially to Bills star Josh Allen.
"He's big, strong, fast, pretty explosive-and he's competitive," said Campbell. "At the end of the day, he's got all these physical attributes, but it's what he's got inside of him, man. He's the ultimate competitor. That's what separates him from a lot of guys. That's why those guys play the way they do for him. That's what makes him who he is."
Allen, who is currently the betting favorite to win league MVP, is arguably playing the best football of his career. Through 13 games, Allen has 32 total touchdowns, 3,449 total yards and just five interceptions.
The Bills lost last week against the Los Angeles Rams despite Allen becoming the first player in NFL history to throw for three touchdowns and run for three touchdowns. With Buffalo potentially missing some players on defense against the Lions due to injuries, Allen may need to put together another MVP-level performance.
