Back when The Bachelor season 28 was airing, there were rumors that Joey Graziadei was engaged to Daisy Kent before he actually proposed to Kelsey Anderson in the finale.
While it was all debunked by the end, the rumors were still persistent among the viewers of the series. Now, Anderson herself has finally discussed the rumors and candidly revealed her thoughts.
Kelsey Anderson on Joey Graziadei's Rumored Engagement to Daisy Kent
In a recent interview, Anderson weighed in on Graziadei's rumored engagement to Kent and explained that she didn't speak about the issue at that time since it would spoil their happy ending.
"Towards the end of the show when the spoiler came out that it was somebody else Joey was engaged to — my good friend, Daisy — I think that was hard because people were assuming things," she said.
Anderson revealed that she didn't reach out to Kent after they finished filming because of the "weird situation" surrounding it, but they eventually reconnected months later.
"At the beginning, it was a little hard because I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. Is he sure he wants me? What if he has second thoughts?’" she explained.
"After a certain point of Joey reassuring me and telling me like, ‘I want this to work. It was going to be you. I was always going to be you,’ in a sense, I feel like Joey and I had built a lot."
While the rumor was difficult to navigate at the beginning, Anderson eventually let go of all the negativity and moved on.
She continued, "But I’m glad that, honestly, it was harder at the beginning and now I’m like whatever. In my mind, people that are over critiquing me and being hateful in that way, you need more hobbies. I don’t think that people that are really happy care about other people."
When is Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson's Wedding Day?
So far, Graziadei and Anderson have not announced their wedding date as they are still figuring out the next step of their relationship.
"We’re both in the process of starting to figure it out, and we’ve both said we want it to be for us," Graziadei said in a recent interview.
"So, however, you want to take that. We’ll figure out what it is, but it’s going to be for us. It’s going to be for us and something special we can look back on."
For now, fans of The Bachelor should stay tuned for updates regarding the happy couple's long-awaited day.
