Jahan Dotson was on the field for 93% of the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive plays in Sunday's 15-12 win over the New Orleans Saints, and was once again not much of a factor when it came to catching passes.
However, the former first-round pick who was acquired in a trade at the end of training camp had a huge impact on the Eagles' biggest play of the game.
When Dallas Goedert came up with his 61-yard reception from Jalen Hurts late in the fourth quarter that set up the Eagles' game-winning touchdown by Saquon Barkely, Doston helped set up the defensive miscue that allowed to produce the explosive play.
Dotson, who had just two catches for 8 yards on three targets, was running a short crossing pattern in effort to slow down the defender covering Goedert -- Saints defensive back Will Harris.
Not only did Dotson successfully slow down Harris, he also caused enough of a diversion where two other New Orleans defenders, cornerback Marshon Lattimore and safety Jordan Howden to collide just as Hurts was delivering the football to Goedert.

"Jalen operated (on that play) in chaos," Eagles coach nick Sirianni said during his postgame press conference. "The offensive line had good protection. Dallas ran a good route, and you can all look at it, there was some help from others guys in that case."
Sirianni also mentioned Dotson as one of the Eagles players who has struggled some early in the season, but continues to fight through the adversity.
"Last week was rough. Last week was something where our guys had to pick ourselves off of the mat, and every one of them did."
Statistically speaking, Dotson has improved every week with the Eagles. His two catches was a season high and he now has three receptions for 14 yards.
A year ago with Washington, Dotson started 16 of the Commanders' 17 games, caught 49 passes for 518 yards and four touchdowns.
