What’s Jordan Mailata Saying About Return To Eagles?

The Philadelphia Eagles got great news just 24 hours before their NFC East showdown against the Washington Commanders.

Jordan Mailata recounts recovery process as he nears return

Jordan Mailata, the team's top left tackle, is back.

Philadelphia opened up Mailata's practice window on Monday and now has activated him to the 53-man roster making him in line to start Thursday night's contest.

With the team on a five-game winning streak, Mailata just wants to make sure the organization doesn't miss a step with his return.

"I just don't want to be the reason that we lose," Mailata said. "Because this streak is awesome. I'm very eager. I'm an eager beaver. But I'm excited, again, if the opportunity comes this week, I'll be there. If it's not my time, then I'll be there next week."

Mailata missed the last four weeks due to a hamstring injury in the team's 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns in October. Backup journeyman Fred Johnson took over at left tackle and was serviceable enough with Mailata helping him on the sideline.

Now with his return, the Eagles have welcomed back their entire projected offensive line from the start of the season - something they'll need against a Commanders defensive line that is fifth in the league against the pass this season.

In a game that could decide the winner of the NFC East, getting top players back and healthy is critical for both teams. For the Eagles, that means Mailata's return to the lineup.

And no one is happier about that than quarterback Jalen Hurts.
