Where do the Dallas Cowboys rank in 2025 NFL strength of schedule?

While the 2025 NFL schedule won't be released until this spring — typically in mid-May — the Dallas Cowboys have known their opponents for next season since the last second ticked off the clock in the 2024 regular-season finale.

And Brian Schottenheimer & Co. will undoubtedly have their work cut out for them as they attempt to bounce back from a disappointing 7-10 season.

Six of the Cowboys' 17 games, of course, will come against their rivals in the NFC East, with two each against the New York Giants, the NFC runner-up Washington Commanders, and the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to their division matchups, America's Team will also square off with the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears, as the three-year intraconference rotation dictates that all NFC East teams will play all NFC North teams in 2025.

Furthermore, with the four-year interconference cycle dictating that all NFC East teams will play all AFC West teams, Dallas will also face the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders.

With a third-place finish in the division, the Cowboys will also battle the third-place teams from the other two NFC divisions they're not already scheduled to play, giving them matchups with the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers.

And for their 17th game, with the rotating cycle dictating that every NFC East team will play the AFC East team that finished in the same position in 2024, Dallas is set for a date with the New York Jets.

For those keeping track, that's 10 games for the Cowboys next year against teams that made the playoffs this past season, which is tied for the third-most in the league. And as far as overall strength of schedule is concerned, Dallas has one of the toughest slates in the NFL in 2025.

The Cowboys are tied for the fifth-toughest strength of schedule in 2025

Based on regular-season records from this past year, the Cowboys' 2025 opponents had a combined winning percentage of .557, going 161-128.

As such, Dallas is tied with the Packers and Vikings for the fifth-toughest strength of schedule for the 2025 campaign. Only the Giants (.574), Lions (.571), Bears (.571), and Eagles (.561) have a more challenging slate.
