Michael Gerard Tyson also known as Mike Tyson, born on June 30, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York, is one of the most iconic figures in the history of professional boxing. Tyson rose to prominence in the late 1980s as a young, ferocious fighter with unparalleled speed and power. In 1986, at the young age of 20 years old, he became the youngest heavyweight champion in history. Tyson’s fighting style, characterized by his knockouts and demeanor, made him a global sensation and a household name.
Tyson reigned as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 with his impeccable career. Tyson has had a total of 58 fights, with 50 wins, 6 losses, and 2 no contests; his last competitive fight was a TKO loss to Kevin McBride in June 2005. Since then, he fought in an exhibition match in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr; and plan to return to the ring in 2024 to take on Jake Paul on July 20th, 2024. Tyson has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame.
