Who are winners and losers from Eagles' 2025 offseason going into training camp?

All the Philadelphia Eagles are back home and resting for the next month before training camp as the offseason is finally over.

It was filled with so much excitement over winning the Super Bowl, but it also saw roster turnover, mostly on defense. The Eagles concluded their offseason workouts last week with a one-day mandatory minicamp. Now they prep for their Super Bowl title defense run in 2025.

Who came out the biggest winners and losers on the Eagles' roster from the offseason?

Winner: Saquon Barkley

It's hard not to pick Barkley as a winner, as he dominated the offseason. The Eagles gave him a raise, he made the cover of EA Sports' Madden NFL 26 video game, and was the top-selling NFL player in merchandise. Not sure if anyone had a better offseason than Barkley.

Loser: Sydney Brown

When C.J. Gardner-Johnson first got traded, it seemed like an easy choice to pick Brown as a winner since he was most likely in line to take over at safety. Then the NFL Draft happened with Andrew Mukuba being picked in the second round. It didn't help matters when Eagles defensive coordinator mentioned Tristin McCollum was also up for the safety job. Brown could still win the job, but he may not be able to afford to make any mistakes in training camp.

Winner: Jalyx Hunt

Here's one where a trade benefited someone without any additional costs. Bryce Huff was sent off to San Francisco to play for the 49ers, and now Jalyx Hunt will get his first shot at starting. Hunt appears to be following in the footsteps of his other edge rusher, Nolan Smith Jr., to have a big second season in the NFL.

Loser: Kenyon Green

There was hope for Green to come over to Philadelphia after being a part of the Gardner-Johnson trade to work with Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland and maybe win the right guard job. Instead, he was taking third-team reps at minicamp at left guard. Green has a lot to prove in training camp after being a former first-round pick, and now looks more like he's in the bubble instead of a locked roster spot.

Winner: Tanner McKee

McKee was so impressive in the last two games of the regular season that the Eagles traded away Kenny Pickett to the Cleveland Browns for Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Some people really like Thompson-Robinson, but McKee took all the second-team reps and looked impressive. Despite Thompson-Robinson and sixth-round pick Kyle McCord there, the backup job appears to be McKee's to lose, and he most likely won't.

Loser: Kylen Granson & Harrison Bryant

With so much uncertainty with Dallas Goedert's situation this offseason, Granson and Bryant were solid insurance policies for the Eagles. Instead, Goedert got a reworked deal, and Nick Muse emerged as a potential third tight end after a solid minicamp. Granson and Bryant were the reliable veterans who were going to fight to be third strings, but they may both be fighting to stay on the roster.
