Who is Cooper Kupp? Could the Bengals trade for the Rams' receiver?

Receiver Cooper Kupp said earlier this week he was informed by the Los Angeles Rams that the team is looking to trade him "immediately."

NFL.com listed the Cincinnati Bengals as one of six logical landing spots for Kupp, and several sportsbooks consider the Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers to be co-favorites to add Kupp.

Kupp's 2025 salary of $20 million may discourage teams like the Bengals, and many assume Kupp's arrival would mean free agent Tee Higgins' departure, despite the fact that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and others have insisted that Cincinnati should bring Higgins back.

What to know about Kupp, who has played all eight of his NFL seasons with the Rams:

Kupp has played in 33 games over the past three seasons.

Like Higgins, Kupp has endured injury issues and struggled to stay healthy since his record-breaking 2021 season.

Kupp had 67 catches for 710 receiving yards with six touchdowns in 12 games last season. He had 59 receptions with 737 receiving yards and five TDs one season earlier.

Kupp played in just nine games during the 2022 season, when the Rams finished 5-12, after having defeated the Bengals in Super Bowl 56.

Kupp had won the most recent receiving triple crown, before Ja'Marr Chase won it.

When Chase became the fifth player since 1970 to finish the regular season as the leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches, he was the first since Kupp with the Rams in 2021.

Kupp played in all 17 games that season, finishing with 145 receptions, 1,947 receiving yards and 16 receiving TDs.

Chase's triple-crown season featured 127 catches, 1,708 yards and 17 TDs.

Kupp was the Super Bowl 56 Most Valuable Player.

Kupp caught the game-winning TD pass with 1:25 left against the Bengals, and finished the game with a team-high eight catches for 92 receiving yards with two touchdowns.

Higgins had 100 receiving yards and two TDs on four catches for Cincinnati, and Chase added five receptions for 89 yards.

Kupp was a third-round pick out of Eastern Washington in 2017.

The Bengals selected receiver John Ross one pick before the Chiefs took quarterback Patrick Mahomes in 2017.

Cincinnati had more success with its second-round pick that year, running back Joe Mixon. In the third round, the Bengals took defensive end Jordan Willis, four picks after the Rams took Kupp.

The New Orleans Saints selected Bengals star defensive end Trey Hendrickson later in the third round that year.
