Who is the Commanders best overall athlete?

If we can draw any conclusions over the past two draft classes, it’s that Adam Peters values athleticism in his picks.

Who is the Commanders best overall athlete? - Hogs Haven

For the second year in a row, the Commanders ranked first in total RAS with an impressive 8.986 average among their five draft picks.

Over the decades, Washington has had some incredible athletes. I think we can probably all agree that Darrell Green, despite his size, was one of the greatest athletes in Washington history. John Riggins and Sean Taylor were also exceptional athletes for their size. These are just a few of MANY who could be mentioned.

Below I took a look at some of the best athletes on the current team. I chose to use the RAS (Relative Athletic Score) method that my friend Kent Lee Platte has made famous - as they group the players height, weight, speed, quickness, explosion and strength into one formula.

Now RAS is not everything. For this exercise, I’m not going to knock a prospect for size, because if you are an athlete, you’re an athlete. However, I personally WILL boost a player who posts excellent numbers for his size. An example of this is an offensive lineman running a 4.8 at over 300 pounds.

Please vote in the poll and discuss in the comments section who you feel is the Commanders best overall athlete.

Tyler Owens

Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels does not have any testing numbers from the combine or LSU’s Pro Day to go by. It was reported that he ran a 4.50 40 while at Arizona State in 2020-2021, however he claims he was faster than Malik Nabors (who ran between a 4.35-4.38 40 at LSU’s Pro Day) and Brian Thomas Jr (4.33 combine). We do have video if his long-speed on display while at LSU.
