Mike Tyson Vs. Jake Paul May Be Cancelled

On Saturday, March 16, 57-year-old Tyson — who has a 50-6 record including 44 knockouts — was shown in an Instagram post by Tool singer Maynard James Keenan.

In the post, Keenan said Tyson has begun training for the fight, which was supposed to occur at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“Honored to have @miketyson grace our small town academy, @verdevalleybjj,” the post said. “His Training Camp for @jakepaul vs @miketyson began under our roof.”

Now why has the heavily anticipated fight been pushed back? Here’s what we know so far.

Did Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight?

The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was scheduled to be shown live on Netflix on Saturday, July 20. It is now postponed.

Why was the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight canceled?

According to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Netflix shared that the Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul fight scheduled for July 20 would not continue as planned.

This is due to Tyson having a recent ulcer flare-up. Doctors have advised him to lighten his training for a few weeks to rest and recover; he will then be able to train fully.

“The fight will be rescheduled for a date later this year after Mike’s able to resume training with no limitations and both fighters can have equal time to prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup,” Netflix said in the post.

According to the New York Post, Tyson suffered a medical scare on May 27, likely leading to the postponement four days later. While on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles Tyson's representatives told the Post in an email that, “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing."

The medical emergency delayed passengers from leaving the plane for about 25 minutes as medical professionals checked on Tyson.

Afterward, his representative said he was "doing great."

Did Mike Tyson pull out of the fight?

Mike Tyson did not pull out of the fight, but he was being advised by his doctors to pause his training after an ulcer flare-up.

Who could replace Mike Tyson?

The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will still occur at a later date. No one will replace Tyson; instead, he will be given the time to rest and recover from an ulcer flare-up.

Logan Paul — Jake's older brother, YouTuber and professional wrestler — posted a joke on X about the fight delay.

"So Mike Tyson’s out? I’ll step in and we can settle this once and for all @jakepaul," he wrote on X alongside a photo of the two brothers facing off.

Jake Paul responded to the post writing, "Loser has to change their last name
