Will Levis confidently explains why he should be the Titans' QB in 2025

It's no secret  that the Tennessee Titans could replace 2024 Week 1 starting quarterback Will Levis. They could sign a veteran bridge option in free agency before the club possibly uses the first pick of the upcoming draft to select either Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders.

While speaking during Super Bowl LIX media obligations, Levis explained why he's still confident he can be Tennessee's QB1 for and beyond the 2025 season.

"I think it's taking the good with the bad, and making sure I am taking note of all the things that happened and most importantly try to clean up the things that could have made the season go a little smoother if I were able to clean things up beforehand," Levis said, as shared by Jim Wyatt of the Titans' website. "A lot of good (last year), a lot of things that I think I was able to improve on from (my rookie season in 2023) and a lot of stuff I know is up to the level of what needs to happen as an NFL quarterback. And, a lot of throws, too, that a lot of NFL quarterbacks weren't able to make, and those plays give me the confidence to go and improve on the things that I need to to propel me further in this league."

Levis was benched in December due to his inconsistent play, but it nevertheless remains unknown if the Titans will spend the first pick of the 2025 draft or look to trade it for additional assets. As recently as Monday, ESPN's Matt Miller predicted that Tennessee will pass on both Ward and Sanders to instead make Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter the first overall choice of the player-selection process on April 24.

According to Pro Football Reference, Levis finished Week 18 ranked 42nd in the NFL among qualified players with a 27.9 adjusted QBR, 33rd with an 81.4 passer rating, tied for 32nd with a 63.1 percent completion percentage and 39th with a 36.5 percent passing success rate. Over 12 games, he recorded 13 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions.

Levis mentioned that he feels he will "come back a better leader and person for this team" after he spends a portion of the offseason working with well-known quarterback guru Jordan Palmer. With that said, Levis also seems to understand he could have a new NFL home before he takes the next in-game snap of his career.

"Every year, I don't care what position you play, I feel like it is in their best interest to do their due diligence to make sure they know who is out there and evaluate who they feel they need to evaluate," Levis added during his comments. "It doesn't offend me at all. And I know going 3-14 doesn't get you job security anywhere for any team. All I can do is put my head down and work to show them I can still be this team's quarterback."

Whether or not he'll get a real opportunity to prove his worth to the Titans this summer shall be seen.
