Yankees, Mets Predicted To Make Blockbuster Trade Involving $37 Million Pitcher

The New York Yankees have reportedly been attempting to trade starting pitcher Marcus Stroman this offseason. Stroman is seemingly the sixth or seventh pitcher on the Yankees' roster, so a trade makes sense.

After a recent injury to pitcher Luis Gil, the Yankees could be a bit more unwilling to move Stroman, but if the offer is right, New York will likely take a deal.

Jared Bloom of Sportskeeda recently predicted the Yankees would eventually trade Stroman to the New York Mets this season.

"The New York Mets have seen a few injuries to their starting rotation," Bloom wrote. "Sean Manaea was shut down on Monday after experiencing a right oblique strain. Frankie Montas also came off the mound recently feeling discomfort. Marcus Stroman could be a name the clubs turn to. His status with the Yankees is up in the air with a handful of starters that likely push Stroman to the sixth man or a reliever."

The Mets would be the perfect landing spot for Stroman if the Yankees end up looking to move him.

The Mets have multiple question marks in their starting rotation right now. With Manaea and Montas sidelined for the time being, they could turn up the urgency on bringing in another pitcher.

If the Mets would be willing to take on Stroman's contract, they could likely get a deal done for very little prospect capital.

It's important to note that Stroman's spot on the roster seems safe until the Yankees are fully healthy.
