The Detroit Lions have made another move in free agency when they signed former New York Jets tight end Kenny Yeboah to a one-year deal.
His name looks like the catch phrase Flava Flav from Public Enemy got famous for using in the 80's, and that actually makes a lot of sense because Chuck D's former hype man actually lives in Detroit now and can be seen at Lions games.
His name is actually pronounced ya-BOW-ah by the way.
The Lions have been poking around tight ends a bit as of late. They talked to a few at the 2025 NFL Combine. There is a need for a tight end because the Lions are not bringing back Shane Zylstra or James Mitchell. Right now the team only has two guys.
there's likely still a chance that the Lions will look for a tight end in the draft and Yeboah will have to earn his spot at training camp. He's been in the league since 2021 and he's been an ok pass blocker, but what the Lions really need is a guy who can be a good run blocker. Both Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright aren't too good at that either.
Now for something super stupid. I dreamt about this signing for the Lions earlier in the week. Here's what happened. I saw a notification for a player name that looked like Yebo. I can't find this notification and it's the weirdest thing. But in that moment I started saying Kenny "Yeah Boy" to myself essentially because I'm weird. Later that night I dreamt that Kenny Yeboah signed to the Lions.
So there you go. To do you guys a favor, tonight I'll dream about the Lions trading for Trey Hendrickson.
