Season 27 “Bachelor” couple Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar are dropping exciting news about their love story. If you’ve been following them on Instagram, you’ll know that they recently shared photos revealing they had gotten married. Well, on a podcast that aired a few days ago, the couple also mentioned that they had already discussed having kids and are likely to have twins, People reports.
Shallcross and Biggar appeared on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where Biggar announced that they had tied the knot on May 23. They had a private, intimate ceremony at a chapel outside Austin with just their closest loved ones.
When asked if they had already considered starting a family, Kaity answered, “I’m thinking like during our honeymoon.” Zach responded, “Actually, yeah, that could work.”
Next, the newlyweds were asked about whether they had discussed how many kids they would want. Biggar said they had done so already but that obviously she has to “listen” to her body. “For sure, two [kids] and then kinda see how hard it is for us,” she said.
Shallcross then shared a special detail about their potential for having kids together: they were “99% sure” they would have twins. “There’s like on both sides, several different sets of twins. So we’re pretty much due for [twins],” he explained.
While on the podcast, which is hosted by “Bachelor in Paradise” alums and married couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt, Shallcross and Biggar also dished on their new priority: planning their honeymoon and purchasing a home.
Romantic Proposal(s)
Shallcross, a tech executive, proposed to Biggar, a travel nurse originally from Canada, on the finale of their season, which took place in Thailand and aired in March 2023. Fans will remember the romantic way Shallcross asked for Biggar’s hand in marriage. “Kaity, I want to be with you forever. My heart is beating through my chest right now,” he told Biggar, who accepted his proposal with an “Absolutely.”
Shallcross went on to propose to Biggar a second time, but outside of the show. In November 2024, Biggar shared, via Instagram, that her now-husband also popped the question during her 30th birthday celebration in Lisbon, Portugal.
A History-Making Couple
Shallcross and Biggar’s marriage is a big deal for die-hard fans of “The Bachelor.” In the show’s history, which includes 29 seasons, just one other couple that got engaged during their season finale ended up walking down the aisle: Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici from season 17.
More couples engaged during the finale of “The Bachelorette” eventually married. These couples include Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter(season 1), Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried (season 9), JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers (season 12) and recently divorced Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo (season 13).
