The San Francisco 49ers have announced a series of promotions within their front office as the team continues to strengthen its leadership structure under President of Football Operations and General Manager John Lynch.
Tariq Ahmad, Jordan Fox, RJ Gillen, Brian Hampton, Jason Kwon, Matt Ploenzke, Shravan Ramamurthy, Corry Rush, and Ryan Schutta have each been elevated to new roles within the organization.
Additionally, the team has added Benjamin Klein to the personnel department.

The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.
Ahmad has been promoted from Director of Player Personnel to Vice President, Player Personnel. Ahmad finished his 11th season with the 49ers and his first as Director of Player Personnel. In his role, Ahmad manages the daily operations of the college scouting department and their evaluations of players among colleges to help prepare for the Draft and free agency.
Fox has been promoted from player personnel analyst to player personnel scout. In 2025, he enters his second season with the 49ers.
Gillen has been promoted from Director of Player Personnel to Assistant General Manager. Gillen finished his 10th season with the 49ers and his first as Director of Player Personnel. In his role, Gillen manages the daily operations of the pro scouting department and their evaluations of players among the various professional leagues to help prepare the club for acquisitions through free agency, trades and the daily player transactional movement. Gillen also assists the coaching staff through his advance scouting.
Hampton has been promoted from Vice President, Football Administration to Assistant General Manager. Hampton finished his 21st season with the 49ers and his fifth as Vice President, Football Administration. He spent the previous 10 seasons (2010-19) as the director of football administration and analytics. Hampton also served as the team's manager of football operations for two seasons and as an analyst before that. He originally joined the 49ers as a football operations intern in late 2003. In his role, Hampton is responsible for roster construction strategy, contract negotiations, strategic planning and management of the club's player compensation budget and salary cap.
Klein has been hired as a R&D performance analyst. He joins San Francisco after holding multiple roles within Michigan State University's men's basketball program along with stops with the Major League Soccer's FC Cincinnati, the Chicago Bulls and the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Kwon has been promoted from scouting assistant to area scout. In 2025, he enters his fourth season with the 49ers.
Ploenzke has been promoted from director of football R&D to Vice President, Football R&D. In 2025, he enters his sixth season with the 49ers. In his current role, Ploenzke oversees the research strategies for the personnel department and advises on the methodological approaches undertaken. His primary responsibilities involve developing player valuation metrics using advanced statistical techniques and providing interpretations of these metrics to aid in roster acquisitions.
Ramamurthy has been promoted from football data scientist to manager, football R&D. In 2025, he enters his fourth season with the 49ers.
Rush has been promoted from vice president, football communications to executive vice president, communications. In 2025, he enters his fifth season with the 49ers. In his current role, Rush oversees the football communications and community relations departments.
Schutta has been promoted from pro personnel analyst to pro scout. In 2025, he enters his second season with the 49ers.
