The suggestion that the San Francisco 49ers might trade Brandon Aiyuk to the Las Vegas Raiders is being labeled as "shocking,'' according to one headline.

And it's true... but not for the reason the site thinks.

The rumor is not "shocking'' because it would be the movement as the result of a "shocking 49ers trade proposal that sends $120 million star to Raiders,'' as it is billed.

It would be "shocking'' because it is almost literally impossible to trade this player at this time.

How impossible? Even Aiyuk himself is speaking out and labeled it as that, noting that he is rehabbing an injury, and as of now, there is no positive timetable. And that therefore, frankly...

Well, who would want to trade for a limping $120 million player?

So, no, there are no plans to do a deal that sends him to play in Washington with old pal quarterback Jayden Daniels. That was yesterday's goofy idea that didn't add up. Deebo Samuel is there, the Niners ex making $17.5 million this year. Aiyuk's APY is $30 million. And Terry McLaurin is seeking at least that in his new contract.

That would make for a compelling receiver's room... but a financially bloated one in an unprecedented way.

And now comes NFL Analysis Network's John Porter, who believes the 49ers could trade Aiyuk to the Raiders, calling a deal "a no-brainer for the Raiders if he were available.''

Alert: We bet Aiyuk is available.

So why isn't this done? Because at this time it is not a no-brainer. No trade for Aiyuk is.

And even he knows it.
