A complete look at the 2024 Tennessee Titans initial 53-man roster

The Tennessee Titans had to make some difficult decisions to get the 90-man training camp roster down to just 53 names that will make up the 2024 Titans.

Keep in mind that the roster will undoubtedly change before the Titans actually suit up to take on the Chicago Bears in Week 1.

After trimming down the roster with a series of transactions and a couple of surprise trades, here's a look at the players that make up Tennessee's initial 53-man roster.

Quarterbacks (2): Will Levis, Mason Rudolph

The Titans ultimately decided on just two quarterbacks. Tennessee traded Malik Willis to the Green Bay Packers ahead of the NFL cut deadline in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Running backs (3): Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Julius Chestnut

Julius Chestnut's ability on offense as a ball-carrier and pass-catcher won him the job as the RB3 over Hassan Haskins. Chestnut had 78 rushing yards on 22 carries in the preseason.

Wide receivers (6): DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Jha'Quan Jackson

The Titans could only hold on to six wide receivers when everything was said and done. Kearis Jackson and Mason Kinsey were both done in by injuries late in training camp and Bryce Oliver's preseason flashes were not enough to earn him a spot.

Tight ends (5): Josh Whyle, Chig Okonkwo, Nick Vannett, David Martin-Robinson, Thomas Odukoya

Tennessee is shockingly keeping five tight ends on the initial 53-man roster. Both David Martin-Robinson and Thomas Odukoya have earned their place on the team, and clearly Ran Carthon and Co. believe they're two of the best all-around football players on the bubble

Offensive linemen (9): JC Latham, Peter Skoronski, Lloyd Cushenberry, Dillon Radunz, Nicholas Petit-Frere, Andrew Rupcich, Daniel Brunskill, John Ojukwu, Jaelyn Duncan

One of the more surprising decision the Titans made on Tuesday was to move on from OT Geron Christian. From watching the rotations used in training camp, I viewed Christian as the clear backup left tackle for Latham. Tennessee opted to keep second-year players John Ojukwu and Jaelyn Duncan instead.

Defensive linemen (4): Jeffery Simmons, T'Vondre Sweat, Sebastian Joseph-Day, Keondre Coburn

Outside linebackers (5): Harold Landry III, Arden Key, Jaylen Harrell, Rashad Weaver, Caleb Murphy

Inside linebackers (7): Kenneth Murray Jr., Ernest Jones, Jack Gibbens, James Williams, Otis Reese IV, Luke Gifford, Cedric Gray

Even more shocking than five tight ends is seven inside linebackers for the Titans. The trade for Ernest Jones from the Rams is not official yet, but the Titans are currently holding on to just about everyone in a very deep linebackers room.

Cornerbacks (4): L'Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, Roger McCreary, Jarvis Brownlee Jr.,

Safeties (5): Amani Hooker, Quandre Diggs, Jamal Adams, Elijah Molden, Mike Brown

Mike Brown gets the last spot at safety, beating out hometown hero Matthew Jackson. Tennessee goes surprisingly light int he secondary overall, keeping just four cornerbacks after cut day.

Specialists (3): K Nick Folk, P Ryan Stonehouse, LS Morgan Cox

Brayden Narveson was a fun preseason story for Tennessee, but it was going to take a lot more than one heroic moment to unseat an established veteran like Nick Folk. Folk led the NFL in field goal percentage in 2023, hitting 29 of his 30 attempts.
