A.J. Brown accomplishes a feat not seen since Mike Quick was still playing

Whenever A.J. Brown does or says anything, his statements will probably be picked apart. We get it. He's talented and polarizing. He's often driven by his emotions and competitive nature, but think about it. Those same emotions are why he's been so good in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform.

He also plays the wide receiver position. When have we ever seen someone do so skillfully and shy away from opportunities to place their stamps on games.

They are often looked at as divas or selfish. None of that is A.J.'s probably. He is paid a small fortune. He truly wants to earn the money he's making and help his team win.

Frankly, we respect that. He's kind of the anti-Nnamdi Asomugha. The latter still owes Philly a refund for some of the money he made here, and if you know him personally, you can tell him we said so.

A.J. Brown's 'off-year' still has him positioned next to some elite Eagles company.

Here's something of note. This sort of got swept under the rug because of the Eagles' collapse in Landover vs. the Washington Commanders. A.J. Brown's 2024-25 regular-season campaign has been treated like an off-year, but yet in still, he has again eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving.

Let that sink in for a second...

Here's how good he has been. Entering Week 16, 38 NFL wide receivers had been targeted more often than he had been. The ball had only been thrown in A.J.'s direction 77 times through 14 games.

Despite that, eight catches and 97 yards receiving in Week 16 vs. the Washington Commanders pushes him past the 1,000-yard threshold. Keep in mind the fact that he missed Weeks 2-4 with a hamstring injury.

He has now reached the milestone in each of his three seasons in Philly and has become the first Eagles receiver to do so in three consecutive seasons since Mike Quick did so from 1983-1985. Quick's 1,409 yards receiving led all NFL receivers in 1983.

Again, take some time and think about that. We have tremendous respect for Harold Carmichael and Tommy McDonald. Both are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and they didn't ever accomplish that feat.

A.J.'s occasional frustration with his lack of involvement in the offense is well publicized. However, if you're a detractor and looking for a co-signer to knock him for that, trust us on this. You won't find any support here on this platform in that regard.

This is one of the game's best receivers. Heck yeah, we want him to get the football. You see what happens when he is fed. Great things always happen as a result. Once he is done, he has a chance at being remembered as one of the best receivers in franchise history and that says a lot seeing as how there have been many legends who have donned the Midnight and Kelly Green.
