How A.J. Brown made Eagles fans love him and share his commitment in one message

On Tuesday, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker invited Brown to be a guest speaker at The Philly Service Award. This non-profit organization hosts a community service competition for high school students.

Brown was surprised by the first-ever "Making a Better Philly Changemaker Award." On Wednesday, he shared on his social media his speech after being presented with the award, wearing his heart on his sleeve for what Philadelphia has meant to him.

"This city made me sharper, tougher and more focused, not just as a player but as a man.  And every time I step onto that field, or into the community, I carry that Philly edge with me. You all, Philly, has adopted me, and I’m so thankful."

During his three seasons in Philadelphia, Brown has caught 261 passes for 4,031 yards and 25 touchdowns. He has been an AP's second-team All-Pro selection in the last three years and has two Pro Bowl selections.

Last season had its ups and downs with Brown and Super Bowl MVP quarterback Jalen Hurts is being rumored to have issues with their relationship due to the lack of targets going Brown's way. Brown was also the subject of trade rumors in the offseason, with him potentially reuniting with his former Tennessee Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel, with the New England Patriots.

It has been a good past week plus for Brown, as he not only received that award but also got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Kelsey Riley. A moment that included singer John Legend performing during the proposal at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.

The city continues to show its love for Brown and the impact he has made since arriving in 2022. The hope is that the Eagles can keep Brown through the rest of his contract, which ends after the 2029 season, with some Super Bowl titles sprinkled in.
