The acquisition of Aaron Rodgers was supposed to help get the New York Jets back to the playoffs but that hasn't happened.
Rodgers was brought in last year but only played in one game due to a torn Achilles. He returned for this year with the team having playoff expectations but they've already been eliminated from playoff contention with four weeks left in the regular season.
It has Rodgers thinking that the franchise is cursed, something that a lot of their fans agree with.
“It might be some sort of curse we’ve got to snap as well. Whatever the case, this team, this organization is going to figure out how to get over the hump at some point," Rodgers said, via the New York Post.
The Jets haven't made the playoffs since the 2010 season when they got all the way to the AFC Championship Game before losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They were down 24-0 in that game before scoring 19 unanswered points but it wasn't enough to beat the Steelers.
Since then, it's been a lot of pain and misery for Jets fans. They've gone through different head coaches and quarterbacks but haven't been able to get over the hump.
They'll have to search for more answers during the offseason while also looking for a new head coach and general manager. Both Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas were fired from their respective positions during the season.
They'll finish the 2024 season with games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, and Miami Dolphins.
