When the Kansas City Chiefs signed DeAndre Hopkins midway through last season, the thought was he could help push the offense to greater heights.

Analyst Talks 'Surprise' On DeAndre Hopkins With Chiefs

Amid injuries to Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown, the Chiefs needed someone to step up, and they thought it would be Hopkins, and to an extent, it was.

Hopkins totaled 437 yards and four touchdowns from 10 games in the regular season, but managed just three receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown in three playoff games.

So one could say Hopkins didn't really hit the ground running in Kansas City, and for NFL.com's Jeffri Chadiha, who was a guest on Glenn Clark's radio show, he wasn't surprised one bit.

"DeAndre Hopkins was miscast in Kansas City," Chadiha said. "I think people who are really being honest with themselves when he showed up here understood that. You look at Patrick Mahomes and his willingness to throw contested catches throughout his career; he has never been that kind of quarterback, and DeAndre Hopkins is exactly that type of receiver. I wasn't surprised that it went downhill."

Hopkins did show flashes, though, with games of 86, 56, and 90 yards, but there were also games in which he failed to get past 40 yards.

As a free agent this offseason, the Chiefs didn't appear to be keen on re-signing D-Hop, so the Baltimore Ravens snapped him up.

It is unknown whether Hopkins wasn't the right fit for Andy Reid's scheme or if he was asked to do things he was not capable of doing, but if he shows the same type of production in Baltimore, then we might conclude that the tank on his NFL career is reading empty.

So the move could be considered a failure, as Hopkins didn't elevate the offense, and really didn't in the postseason, and that is surprising for some...just not Chadiha.
