Andrew Lincoln's return to The Walking Dead universe thrilled the entire fandom. His iconic return was featured in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live spinoff. He reunited with Danai Gurira, who portrays his wife Michonne in a series that continued the couple's love story. There have been no announcements regarding future plans for Rick Grimes, but Lincoln has secured his next project, and this one is a bit different.
Hailing from Absurd Ventures, the production company created by Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser, Lincoln will portray Dr. Mark Tyburn in A Better Paradise Volume One: An Aftermath. The release date is June 10, 2024, on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
The story, set in the near future, tells of inventor and psychologist Dr. Mark Tyburn (Lincoln), who led the team that created an ambitious but addictive digital game world. After the disturbing, unexpected results, the team fell apart under strange circumstances, and the project was abandoned until now.
The company's website states, "A BETTER PARADISE is an expansive new universe created by Absurd Ventures, the new company founded by the storytellers behind Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto."
Starring Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln, the 12-part audio fiction series immerses the listener into the terrifying new world of A Better Paradise Volume One: An Aftermath. Lincoln is best known for his role as Rick Grimes in AMC's long-running series The Walking Dead. He left the series, which ran for eleven seasons, midway through season 9. Fans longed for his return, and in 2024, he reprised the role for the sixth spinoff, The Ones Who Live.
He is also known for his role as the card-flashing Mark, who was in love with his best friend's wife in Love Actually. Recently, he starred in an episode of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities which streams on Netflix. In 2020 he starred with Naomi Watts in Penguin Bloom which is based on a true story.
