As if this season couldn't get any worse for the Golden State Warriors, they might be without their two most important players heading into the week. In the Dubs' 122-114 win over the Washington Wizards on Saturday, both Stephen Curry and Draymond Green appeared to be hurt.
Curry's ankle doesn't sound like it will be a long-term issue, but Green's calf could be a different story.
While Green is Curry's sidekick, Andrew Wiggins has been the second star needed to keep the Warriors afloat.
Over the last three games, Wiggins has been arguably Golden State's best player, scoring 20, 24, and 31 in that span while being the best perimeter defender on the roster.
However, Green is more of a vocal leader than Wiggins, and the Canadian forward understands that missing Green will be a hard pill to swallow, saying "a lot changes" when Green is not on the floor.
"A lot changes," said Andrew Wiggins. "Draymond is someone who you can't replace. His IQ, defensive ability, playmaking, all that, everyone has to collectively come up and fill in his shoes. It's going to be tough for sure, but we have the guys to do it."
Green is having a fairly average year for himself this season, but his 36.2 percent mark from 3-point range makes him even more versatile than usual. As the Dubs await an MRI result on his calf, the team will be holding their breath for good news.
