Angry Jets Fans All Saying The Same Thing About New Coach Candidate

Most teams looking for head coaches are always looking for the young offensive-minded individual who can be the next Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan.

Opinion: It's time for Texans to wave goodbye to OC Bobby Slowik

Could Bobby Slowik be the next iteration of that?

For the New York Jets, that's exactly what they are hoping for.

New York announced Thursday afternoon that the team interviewed Slowik for their open head coach role. The former 49ers assistant has been the Houston Texans offensive coordinator for the last two years while helping C.J. Stroud become one of the best young quarterbacks in the game.

Not everyone is pleased with his interview, though.

"Have the Jets seen their own very bad staff manhandle Slowik and the Texans the past 2 seasons?" one angry fan said on Twitter. "If Slowik is at the top of any GM's list, especially after this season, it's the wrong GM hire."

"The NY #Jets have finished their interview of Bobby Slowik for the Head coaching vacancy," another said. "He's not getting it."

After a strong first season as the play-caller offensively, Slowik's work in Houston has been anything but smooth in their second year together.

Houston finished 22nd in yards (319.7) and 19th in points per game (21.9).

Slowik is just one of many other coaching candidates who have interviewed for the Jets top job. His work with young quarterbacks will make him an intriguing option, even if not everyone appears pleased with that in the first place.
