Bella Ramsey has admitted they’re a little uncomfortable with some of the way their co-star Pedro Pascal is spoken about online.
The British actor was interviewed as part of a new cover feature on Pedro for Vanity Fair, in which they admitted they’re not a fan of reading about their friend and colleague being referred to as “daddy” on social media.
“I felt worried for him,” the Game Of Thrones alum claimed. “I want to protect him from that whole joke of becoming the internet’s daddy. I was like, ‘I don’t want everyone to refer to you as that and see you as that. You’re so much more’.”
Both Pedro and Bella landed their biggest roles to date when they were cast as Joel and Ellie in the TV adaptation of the video game The Last Of Us, and reunited – albeit briefly – for the second season earlier this year.
However, back in 2023, Bella was already of the opinion that the internet’s thirst for Pedro had crossed a line.
“I very much played into it at the beginning, but now I’m worried it’s gone too far,” they claimed at the time. “I don’t know whether he’s still loving it; I need to ask him.”
Bella added: “He’s a global phenomenon, as he should be, because he’s pretty spectacular.”
Pedro previously admitted he was “having fun” with the “daddy” label, but insisted that the moniker had more to do with his roles – in projects like The Mandalorian and The Last Of Us – than his real-life persona.
This year has been another big one for Pedro, who is gearing up to make his Marvel debut as one of the new leads in the revival of The Fantastic Four.
