Breece Hall couldn't be happier about the NY Jets' revamped offensive line

NY Jets running back Breece Hall is just like all of us. The Jets' star running back watched Thursday night's game between the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs and came to the same conclusion.

Yes, Patrick Mahomes is great. Yes, Lamar Jackson is still one of the most exciting players in the NFL. But it was hard not to come away thinking about how much worse the Ravens' offensive line looks this season than it did in 2023.

Baltimore boasted one of the best offensive lines in the NFL last season, but after losing three starters in the offseason, the unit was a major issue on Thursday night. Two of those starters, Morgan Moses and John Simpson, are now members of the Jets.

Hall responded to a tweet from The Jet Press which commented on how much worse the Ravens' offensive line looks without Moses and Simpson with a simple "Glad we got 'em." Hall seems to be very happy with the Jets' new-look offensive line.

The NY Jets made Breece Hall a very happy man this offseason

The Jets made addressing their offensive line one of their top priorities this offseason. The team was forced to use 14 different offensive linemen in 2023 due to a slew of injuries, and the results were exactly what you'd expect. It was an unmitigated disaster.

The Jets added three new starters in the offseason, signing All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith to go along with the additions of Moses and Simpson. The hope is that this year's offensive line can not only be passable but could even be a legitimate strength of this Jets roster.

That would certainly be good news for Hall, who was forced to run behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL last season. It didn't seem to affect his box score numbers much, as Hall still finished top four in the NFL in total scrimmage yards, averaging a healthy 4.5 yards per carry.

Still, if that's what Hall was able to do with a bottom-five offensive line, imagine the numbers he's capable of putting up with a top-10 offensive line. This unit has the potential to reach those heights.

The Ravens saw firsthand on Thursday just how significant the losses of Moses and Simpson — as well as Kevin Zeitler, who signed with the Detroit Lions in free agency — were to their offense.

Jackson may have only been sacked two times, but the two-time MVP was under constant pressure all night, resulting in a ridiculous 16 rush attempts, many of which came when he was forced to scramble after immediate pressure from the defense.

The Ravens' losses are the Jets' gains, however. Hall is certainly very happy he has some new offensive linemen blocking for him this season.
