This signing could help the Titans shore up the secondary.
The Tennessee Titans are entering Year 2 of the Brian Callahan era and are hoping the second year goes better than his first year in Nashville. Before Callahan came to Nashville, he was the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals for five years, helping turn Joe Burrow into one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
Titans fans knew that Callahan coming to Tennessee meant that his former players in Cincinnati might follow him to his new team. Tyler Boyd was one of those players and while that one didn't pan out, the latest one they're being connected to could be a much more important addition.
Cory Woodruff of For The Win/USA Today predicted that the Titans would end up landing long-time NFL cornerback Mile Hilton in free agency.
"The Titans could use an upgrade at the nickel cornerback spot, and Hilton is one of the best in the business. He could follow former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan to Tennessee."
Mike Hilton could make sense for the Titans in free agency
Hilton went undrafted out of Ole Miss and eventually landed with the Steelers where he spent the first four years of his career. He then stayed in the AFC North and joined Callahan's Bengals where he played for the next four years and started double-digit games in 2023 and 2024.
The Titans have put in the work to improve their secondary, acquiring L'Jarius Sneed in a trade with the Chiefs last year but unfortunately he battled injuries and only started five games. The hope is that Tennessee can get more out of Sneed and the rest of their secondary in 2025 and Hilton would definitely be a solid veteran addition to the defense.
Tennessee makes sense as a landing spot here for the Callahan connection and Hilton would help their defense out for sure. Let's hope the Titans wise up and make this happen.
