Broncos' Jonathon Cooper Has One-Word Reaction to Potential Draft Pick

The Denver Broncos will have plenty of interesting players to choose from at 20th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. One of the most likely positions for Denver to take is running back.

On Twitter/X, Mile High Mario (@VetanzeTherapy) posed a question, asking how Broncos Country would feel when the Broncos take Ohio State Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson at 20th overall. His post garnered a response from Broncos edge rusher Jonathon Cooper.

Cooper responded to the proposed selection with one word, "Lit." Cooper signed a large four-year extension worth $54 million during the 2024 season, so he has a significant interest in the Broncos success going forward.

His endorsement of Henderson in the first round makes a ton of sense. Cooper went to Ohio State himself, and while the two never played together, supporting fellow alumni makes a lot of sense. Henderson has also been rising up draft boards and could find his way into the first round.

Even with the Ohio State connection, Cooper's endorsement could carry weight as front offices are listening to their players more when it comes to selecting players.

Henderson has often been mocked in the second round. However, he is likely to be selected before the Broncos' second-round selection. Adding Henderson at 20th overall may be considered a reach by some, but this draft class is one where such a move makes sense.

The players from pick 15 until pick 60 are viewed similarly around the NFL, and taking someone who fits the system like Henderson makes more sense than trying to find another player at a better positional value.

The Broncos brought Henderson in for a top-30 visit on the final day of top-30 visits, and clearly expressed their interest in the Ohio State running back. He fits the Sean Payton 'joker' role perfectly out of the backfield, as he's a dynamic dual-threat running back.

Henderson has the endorsement of Cooper, and depending on how the board goes ahead of them, Henderson could be the Broncos' new running back by the end of the first round.
