The Cleveland Browns will look to complete a season sweep against a formidable division rival when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Despite losing a high-scoring affair to the Denver Broncos on Monday, the Browns' offense showed more explosiveness than they had all season. A large reason for that was the breakout performance from receiver Jerry Jeudy.
Playing against his former team, Jeudy finished with nine catches for a career-high 235 yards and a touchdown on Monday night. Jeudy also finished with the most yards by a receiver against their former team in NFL history.
Jeudy's massive performance catapulted him up to fifth in the league in receiving yards (880). In the last five games alone, Jeudy has 33 catches for 614 yards and two touchdowns.
During his media availability on Wednesday, coach Kevin Stefanski praised Jeudy's on-field intelligence.
“I give Jerry a ton of credit,” Stefanski said, moving into rare-compliment territory. “I think his coaches do a great job in preparing him and all of the players. But when you’re talking about being a player that’s going to move around, both in the formation and via motion or shift, you have to have that intelligence to be able to handle that.”
Jeudy was sent to Cleveland in the offseason after he struggled to put up big numbers with the Broncos. However, since Jameis Winston came in at quarterback for the Browns, Jeudy has looked like a completely different player. On Sunday, he will look to have a similar impact to his last game against Pittsburgh, where he finished with 85 yards on six catches.
