Browns Could Target Bills RB to Bolster Rushing Attack

The Cleveland Browns have plenty to address this offseason. Fresh off the news of Deshaun Watson's recent re-injury, quarterback could be the main focus. But there are other areas of a 3-14 team that need attention.

Nick Chubb mounted an incredible comeback to contribute last season, but with his injury history, he may not be the future of running back in Cleveland.

Should the Browns utilize April's NFL Draft for a running back or find more experience in free agency? That's the million-dollar question, and one media outlet thinks a veteran presence is the way to go.

Dog Pound Daily likes the free agent route, and in particular, Buffalo's Ty Johnson.

"His impending free agency is interesting, as Buffalo would probably love to retain him for [Josh] Allen's benefit but might be aiming to save cap space for a bigger 'fish' so to speak in the offseason," Candace Pedraza wrote of Johnson. "Johnson was only signed to a one-year 'prove it' deal with the Bills, and he's certainly proved how he can be a winning player for the team with Super Bowl goals."

Johnson is part of a durable running back room in Buffalo and didn't get a ton of carries in 2024. He totaled just 213 yards and one score and caught 18 balls for 284 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

He's just 27 and has probably shown enough to get a shot at a starting job whether it's in Cleveland or somewhere else.
