Browns Receiver Takes Shot at Broncos Before 'MNF' Matchup

The Cleveland Browns will look to continue to play spoiler when they travel to face the Denver Broncos on "Monday Night Football."

The primetime matchup will serve as a reunion for Browns receiver Jerry Jeudy, who spent the first four years of his career with the Broncos before they traded him to Cleveland in the offseason.

Since Jameis Winston took over at quarterback for the Browns, Jeudy has been one of the team's biggest offensive contributors. In the last four games, Jeudy totaled 24 catches for 379 yards and a touchdown. He's currently on-pace to finish the season with 70 catches for 997 yards, which would be a career-best season for the 25-year-old.

When he was asked about his recent uptick in targets, Jeudy took a subtle shot at his former team.

“I feel like I’ve been getting open my whole career,” said Jeudy. “Just sometimes you don’t get that much of an opportunity. Now I’m here and getting open and getting opportunities. So now it’s time to take advantage of them... You’ve got to be patient and eventually your time will come. Eventually is all on God’s timing, so when your time comes, just be ready.”

After he was the second receiver taken off the board in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Jeudy failed to live up to expectations during his time in Denver. Now, with a fresh start on a new contract in Cleveland, it's clear that Jeudy benefitted from the change of scenery.
