Bruins Prospect Is Impressing Big Time

This Boston Bruins prospect has been excellent during the Prospects Challenge.

The Boston Bruins play their final game of the 2024 Prospects Challenge today (Sept. 16) against the New Jersey Devils at 10 a.m. ET. The Bruins will hope to go out on a high note, as they lost their first two games of the tournament.

Brett Harrison, like his peers, aims to bulk up for successful transition to the pro ranks

While the Bruins have had some trouble during the 2024 Prospects Challenge thus far, some of their prospects have performed quite well. One specific Bruins prospect who has stood out in a big way is forward Brett Harrison.

In the Bruins' first contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Harrison posted a goal and an assist. He then followed that up by scoring again against the Columbus Blue Jackets. This is precisely the kind of offense the Bruins are hoping to see from the promising Harrison.

Harrison, 21, is known for being an offensively skilled player. This was made abundantly clear during his time in the OHL. For example, in 57 games split between the Oshawa Generals and Windsor Spitfires in 2022-23, he had 34 goals and 69 points. Now, it is just a matter of translating more of it to the AHL level.

Harrison had five goals and 14 points in 47 games this past season with the Providence Bruins. While he did not necessarily light up the AHL, it's important to note that this was his first professional season. Heading into 2024-25, he undoubtedly has the potential to take a big step forward in his development. He is already showing great promise during the 2024 Prospects Challenge, as his offensive production demonstrates.

Nevertheless, it is great to see Harrison having such a strong tournament. It will be fun to see what kind of year he puts together for Providence from here.
