Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht has been active in free agency this offseason with both players from the outside and also in re-signing some of his own.

Licht has earned praise for inking outside free agent linebacker Haason Reddick while also keeping wideout Chris Godwin and linebacker Lavonte David in the building.

On Tuesday, Licht and the Bucs locked down another one of their own in offensive lineman Sue Opeta.

Opeta was injured during training camp last offseason and missed all of 2024, It's now hoped he can stay healthy enough to fill the Bucs' left guard spot.

Opeta signed with Tampa Bay last offseason after spending four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and notched six starts across 13 games in 2023.

The former Weber State Wildcat was supposed to compete with fellow newcomer Ben Bredeson for the starting left guard job in 2024 before the injury. Instead, Bredeson played all 17 games for the Bucs last season and became an anchor on a line that was ranked No. 3 in Pro Football Network's offensive line rankings. Bredeson also returns this season.

The Bucs hope Opeta can offer some depth to this season's offensive line rotation.
