Cam Jordan has always been committed to the New Orleans Saints, and he recently proved that once again ahead of his 15th season with the franchise.
One thing that never been questioned is Cam Jordan’s love for the New Orleans Saints. Since being drafted by the team in 2011, the defensive end has been fully committed to the team and the city. That’s why he’s established himself as a franchise legend and fan favorite over the 14 years of his career.
On Wednesday, Jordan found yet another way to show his commitment to the team. He agreed to a pay cut to stay with the team for the 2025 season. The veteran defensive end had one season left on his previous deal, with a cap hit north of $20 million. Wanting to sticking around for his 15th year, he agreed to a new one-year deal with New Orleans that will decrease his cap number.
Jordan took to social media platforms on Wednesday evening to announce that he wasn’t going anywhere.
Cam Jordan agrees to new deal with Saints for 2025 season
Jordan’s announcement comes days after veteran safety Tyrann Mathieu did the same thing. Both veteran leaders have talked about how much it means to be wrapping their careers up in New Orleans, so they worked with the team to make sure that was possible. There was a time when it seemed like that wouldn’t happen, especially for Jordan.
During the final two weeks of the season, the veteran defensive end was seen embracing every moment as if it was his last with the Saints. He admitted that’s exactly what he was doing, because he didn’t know what the future held. Jordan knew he wanted to play the 2025 season, but it was ultimately up to the Saints if he’d be playing in New Orleans or not. He did say he bleeds black and gold, but he’d bleed another team’s colors too, if that’s what it came to.
Fortunately, he and the Saints could agree on a new deal, and now he’s going to be back for his 15th season, as New Orleans tries to accomplish something special on its last run with the team’s core veterans.
