Training Camp Roster Sent to the Hershey Bears

The Capitals sent ten players to their AHL affiliate Hershey Bears. Zac Funk, Alexander Suzdalev, Bogdan Trineyev, Pierrick Dube, and Henrik Rybinski are the forwards sent down. On the blue line, the Bears also receive defensemen Vincent Iorio, Nicky Leivermann, and Jake Massie (both Leivermann and Massie are on AHL deals). Hershey also gets three goalies in Clay Stevenson and Mitch Gibson.

Training Camp Roster Rehabbing in Hershey

In addition to the ten talents sent down to Hershey, the AHL club receives four players continuing to rehab. Two forwards in this group are Luke Philp and Spencer Smallman. The other two who are rehabbing with the Bears are defenders Logan Day and Jon McDonald. Both blueliners have AHL contracts with the Bears.

Training Camp Players Waived for the Bears and OHL Returnee

Washington waived three forwards and two defensemen to send them to Hershey. The forwards are Ethen Frank, Alex Limoges, and Riley Sutter. Meanwhile, Chase Priskie and Hardy Haman Aktell are the two defenders on waivers.

The club’s next preseason game is Monday in Columbus against the Blue Jackets at 7:00 P.M. Then, they complete the 2024 preseason with a 5:00 P.M. home game versus the Boston Bruins on October 5.
