The 8-2-0 record gives the Capitals the second-best points percentage in the entire NHL, at .800, trailing only the 10-1-0 Winnipeg Jets at .909. They sit third overall in the league with 16 standings points, tied with the Devils and Minnesota Wild.

The Capitals also have the fourth-best goal differential in the league (plus-15) and the fifth-most goals scored (44), sporting four different point-per-game players (Dylan Strome, 16; Alex Ovechkin, 13; Connor McMichael, 12; and Aliaksei Protas, 11). Strome’s 16 points are the eighth-most in the league, tying him with Artemi Panarin, Jack Eichel, and Tim Stützle.

Six of the Capitals’ eight wins have come at home. Per Capitals PR, their current six-game home winning streak marks the first time they have won six consecutive home games since 2018 (2/24/18-3/28/18: 7-0-0). That streak included the NHL Stadium Series game played at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD.
