The Boston Celtics are back in action on Sunday night. They only have three home games and five total games left this season, and the Washington Wizards are next up on the docket. However, Boston might end up using this contest as a chance to rest a couple of their top guys heading into the playoffs.

For the Wizards, the rest of the regular season doesn’t matter at all. They have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention (for a while now) and will simply be using their final few games to develop their young core. Rookies like AJ Johnson, Kyshawn George, Bub Carrington, and Alex Sarr could use the extra reps.

The Celtics’ injury report is highlighted by their two best players, as both are dealing with lingering injuries (one more significantly so than the other).

Jaylen Brown is dealing with lingering knee issues and is questionable to play on Sunday night against the Wizards. He recently spoke about how he’s been dealing with the issue.

“I've been just utilizing these games in order to feel things out,” Brown said. “And things will get better. I'm sure. But if they don't, then I still have a good feel of kind of where my baseline is at and stuff like that because there's no guarantee, honestly, that rest is going to make anything better. I wish it would, but it's kind of the cards that are laid out.”

Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum is questionable to play due to a left ankle sprain. He sprained his ankle during the Celtics’ recent road trip but returned to action after one game.

The Wizards have a very lengthy injury report. Richaun Holmes is questionable to play on Sunday due to a right shoulder contusion.
