"Certainly Very Broken": Max Thieriot Previews Bode's Reaction To Vince's Fate In Fire Country Season 4

Fire Country co-creator and star Max Thieriot previews how Bode is set to react to Vince's potential fate in the season 3 finale. Bode spent much of the episode dealing with the Zabel Ridge wildfire, when he and Walter are searching for Otto. Meanwhile, Vince and Sharon head inside the Buena Vista building to find them (without the right equipment). While re-entering to locate Walter, the roof collapses, leaving Vince's fate unknown, and concluding the season on a devastating cliffhanger to end Fire Country season 3.

Fire Country Season 3: Bode's Episode 15 Antics Harken Back To Another TV Action Hero

Per TV LineThieriot revealed that he was worried about how poorly Bode might respond if Vince winds up dying in Fire Country season 4. During the red carpet interview, he states that Bode will be "very broken," and discusses how much this might impact the troubled character's journey so far. Check out Thieriot's comments below:

“Bode has obviously gone through a lot of hardship in his life, and it seems like every time he feels like he’s coming out the other side, something happens. So I worry what [Vince’s death] would to do him, and how poorly he would respond. We know [Bode has] made leaps and bounds as far as the person he is after being incarcerated, but has he come fare enough to deal with something like that or not…? It’s heavy.”

What This Means For Fire Country Season 4

Vince's Fate Seems Like It's Pretty Definitively Sealed & Bode Will Have A Tough Start To Season 4

As Thieriot's comments reveal, things are set to become difficult for Bode heading into Fire Country season 4. He has had a difficult life, and has rebuilt something for himself over the years since getting involved with Cal Fire, but the loss of his father could set him on a downward spiral. Vince and Bode had a fractious relationship, but have just started to heal their rift and get to a positive place, which would make Vince's potential death even more devastating for Bode.

It seems pretty likely that Vince is going to perish in the season 3 finale, and the fact that Vince actor Billy Burke is leaving Fire Country after season 3 pretty much confirms this.

Former convict Bode has come a long way, and has made a lot of growth over the three seasons of the show, but if Vince is to die, this could set him on the wrong path again. Bode will be in a fragile place heading into Fire Country season 4, and the fate of Vince is going to have a lasting impact on his character arc. It feels likely that Vince is going to die in the roof collapse, and Bode will no doubt struggle with loss and guilt on account of his father's death, which will allow the show to explore his character more deeply.

Our Verdict On Vince's Fire Country Fate

The Fact Vince Actor Billy Burke Is Set To Leave The Show Cements Vince's Fate

Billy Burke as Vince Leone in Fire Country season 3 episode 20

The fact that Vince actor Billy Burke is leaving Fire Country after season 3 pretty much confirms the character's grim fate. Of course, there is the possibility that Vince might still have a role to play by way of flashbacks, but it looks like his fate is definitively sealed. What this means for Bode heading into season 4 is unclear at this stage, but he is likely to have a rough ride in Fire Country season 4, and where his character will wind up will be one of the defining questions of the season
