Chiefs TE Travis Kelce Scouts 'Swag Champ' Marquise Brown

When the Kansas City Chiefs signed receiver Marquise Brown in the off-season, many thought he was "the" piece for the offense to take its game up.

But the football gods had other ideas, and Brown suffered a dislocated sternoclavicular joint injury in preseason and missed the first 13 games of the year.

However, Brown has finally returned to football action over the last two games and has hit the ground running as a cog in Andy Reid's scheme.

“I was watching him in practice when he first got back. I was like, that's it, that's the guy we've missed,” Travis Kelce said. “It's just been fun having him, his energy is up, he's a guy that fuels you throughout the week, and he's a swag champ, he's one of those guys that you can feel his presence when you're out there on the field with him.”

In Brown's two games, he's totaled 91 yards from nine receptions as he works his way back into proper football shape. In his two outings, Brown has played just 45 offensive snaps as the Chiefs are building him up for a big postseason.

With a host of starters potentially being rested against the Denver Broncos in Week 18, Brown might be one who still plays and gets a fair chunk of game time as he looks to continue his ramp-up before the playoffs.

Marquise hasn't wasted any time getting rolling in the offense, and come playoff time; he might be the ace in Reid's offensive deck as Kansas City aims to make history with a third successive Super Bowl ring.

And having the "swap champ" rolling might just tilt the scales in the Chiefs' favor.
