The Cleveland Browns are in search of a franchise quarterback but it may not come in this 2025 NFL Draft class.
Still, the Browns are going to take a swing at quarterback at some point in the draft. The expectation is that the Browns will take the best player available on their board at No. 2 overall.
Cleveland could target a trade-up in the back half of the first round or potentially use pick No. 33 on a quarterback. Cleveland has met with multiple quarterbacks and the latest is one they have a staff connection with.
Browns hold a workout with Alabama QB Jalen Milroe
According to Jordan Schultz, the Browns held a workout with Alabama QB Jalen Milroe and it was said to have been an impressive workout. Milroe is a top-five quarterback in this draft and is expected to be drafted in the early rounds.
Milroe brings more athleticism than any other quarterback in the draft and has legit 4.3 40-yard dash speed on his resume. Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees was the OC at Alabama in 2023 when Milroe had his best season in college. Milroe had 2,834 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, and just six interceptions. The Alabama quarterback has had over 1,200 rushing yards combined over the last two seasons.
If the Browns were to take a quarterback like Milroe, it would be to develop him and hope he can be the eventual starter. Milroe has all the physical traits but needs accuracy work more than anything. Milroe would ideally be sitting behind Kenny Pickett and another veteran for at least a season.
A true boom or bust type of quarterback, there is plenty of reason to be excited about Milroe when you turn on his tape. A blazing-fast quarterback that can run past a defense.
Clebdaldn has been connected to Milroe multiple times through the draft process and they are interested. A positive workout should only help his case of potentially landing with the Browns.
