The Cleveland Browns have had a disappointing 2024 season and currently sit at a 3-8 record. From the defense not being as dominant as everyone is used to seeing to the offense having struggles in the passing attack, things just aren’t going Cleveland’s way. The team has needed to address the quarterback position for years, and it looks like they have decided on what they want to do in the future.
Cleveland Browns Make Controversial QB Decision
The Browns are expected to retain controversial quarterback Deshaun Watson for next season along with head coach Kevin Stefanski, according to multiple sources. Watson has been injured for most of the season and has been disappointing since joining the Browns in 2022.
Deshaun Watson Controversy
Watson has been one of the most controversial players in NFL history since he was accused of sexually assaulting multiple women back in 2020. He has become one of the most hated players for that reason, but also because of his play on the field.
The quarterback has only recorded 3,365 passing yards since joining the Browns in 2022 and has never been able to amount to the success he once had with the Houston Texans. Watson suffered a season-ending injury in the October 20 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and it went viral after Cleveland fans cheered about the fact that he was injured.
Despite all of the controversy surrounding him, Browns fans have been begging for the team to finally draft a rookie quarterback for the future, but it does not look like the Browns are ready to consider that just yet, as they would have to pay a substantial amount of money to Watson regardless if he is on the roster or not.
