Commanders Dan Quinn Angrily Reacts to Jayden Daniels Injury Rumors

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn addresses rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels’ health.

The Washington Commanders return to Northwest Stadium this Thursday, aiming to snap a two-game losing streak as they face the struggling Dallas Cowboys. With their defense surrendering a combined 746 yards over their last two matchups, the Commanders look to regain momentum in a competitive NFC East race.

Amid the team’s challenges, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels’ performance has been under scrutiny. Daniels was a frontrunner for Offensive Rookie of the Year before suffering a rib injury in Week 7 that disrupted his rhythm. Through the first six weeks, he posted elite numbers, completing 75.3 percent of his passes with a 107.1 passer rating and averaging 8.5 yards per attempt and 53.6 rushing yards per game. Since returning, those metrics have dipped significantly.

Head coach Dan Quinn addressed concerns about Daniels’ health and the teams recent losing streak during a recent press conference.

“Jayden is not injured right now. We did lose valuable practice time with him and his teammates when he was injured. That’s hard on all the guys. It’s a really important part of what we do,” Quinn stated firmly, emphasizing the team’s belief in their young quarterback.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys arrive in Washington on the heels of another demoralizing 34-10 home loss to the Houston Texans. Dallas has struggled to find the end zone consistently, with their offense often stalling. Currently sitting third in the NFC East, the Cowboys are battling the Giants for the division's bottom spot.

For Washington, a victory could help them close the gap on the Eagles, who overtook them in the divisional standings following a Week 10 loss. A win would also steady their season and reestablish Daniels as a key playmaker in the team's push for the playoffs. With the home crowd behind them, the Commanders have an opportunity to send a statement and build momentum heading into the crucial stretch of the season.
