Commanders Jayden Daniels Reveals Playing Status vs. Giants

Jayden Daniels brought the Washington Commanders back from the dead last weekend. Can he again come off the injury list this Sunday?

Still nursing sore ribs suffered in a blowout win over the Carolina Panthers Oct. 20, Daniels still isn't back to full speed at practice in advance of Sunday's NFC East game at the New York Giants.

Said Daniels earlier this week, "I’m still intact. I feel good.”

The painful injury didn't stop the star rookie quarterback from hurling a 52-yard Hail Mary - that was actually thrown 65 yards in the air - that receiver Noah Brown caught for an unlikely, walk-off touchdown over the Chicago Bears. But according to coach Dan Quinn he still isn't 100-percent recovered.

“I wish I knew," Daniels said of his timetable. "It’s just how I feel daily, how I wake up and how I’m able to move around. And the organization here has a great plan, so I’m trusting that and following it.”

Quinn said the injury might need to be monitored through the entirety of the NFL season. Daniels missed two practices last week. He was limited in the Commanders' practices Thursday and Friday.

“Pain tolerance is always a big thing,” Daniels said. "That’s pretty much what it came down to.”

After going only 4-13 last season, the Commanders are favored to improve to 7-2 with a win over the 2-6 New York Giants.
